Member Privacy Notice

We keep this simple. When you join the Cooperativa Empresarial, we collect some information about you and your business. This notice explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. Alentejo Alliance is a US-based nonprofit operating in Alcácer do Sal, Portugal. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in line with GDPR.
01 What We Collect
When you sign up as a member, we may collect:
• Your name and business name
• Business address, email, and phone number
• A short description of your business and sector
• Your website and social media handles, if you provide them
• Your membership tier and payment records
We do not collect sensitive personal data such as national ID numbers, financial account details, or health information.
02 Why We Collect It
We use your information for four things only:
Your member directory listing
So other members and the community can find your business. We only publish what you say you are happy to share.
Member communications
Newsletters, event invitations, grant updates, and other association news. You can opt out at any time.
Running your membership
Managing renewals and keeping our records accurate.
Social media and marketing
Featuring your business on our channels, but only if you have explicitly agreed to this.
03 Who We Share It With
We do not sell or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes. We may share it with:
• Association staff and volunteers who need it to run your membership
• The platforms we use for our website, directory, and email — all subject to data protection agreements
Nobody else, without your explicit consent.
04 How Long We Keep It
We keep your data while you are a member, and for two years after your membership ends. After that, it is securely deleted or anonymised. Financial records may be kept longer as required by law.
05 Your Rights
As an EU resident, you have the following rights:

Oposição / Object - Opor-se à forma como estamos a utilizar os seus dados. / Object to how we are using your data.
Portabilidade / Portability - Receber os seus dados num formato legível. / Receive your data in a readable format.
Retirar consentimento / Withdraw consent - Mudar de ideias a qualquer momento, sem penalização. / Change your mind at any time, without penalty.
